Reprimand's of food wastage

The scorching sun rays burnt the green; but for the green, it is not difficult to bounce back in the garden city of India. The sprinkle of rain drops in the city made people get mesmerized in the cool breeze to put an end to fuming hot summer.

After end of summer;  one of my colleagues made an observation about increased food waste. The observation made me think, and I came to conclusion that it is confined to my working place. We used to put the remaining food in one rectangular tray; and, keep it outside our canteen on the terrace of the building.  The food in the tray was utilized by a herd of pigeons; which started using the food in the tray to fulfill their energy needs.

But, the rain made pigeons disappear from our office premises and the food we kept in a tray in the last week became wasted. For my personal interest I searched facts about food wastage; to find some astonishing facts which are listed below.

The food intended for human usage if discarded without consumption is called food wastage.

On an average, each human wastes 100kg of food each year.

In developed countries, most of the food is wasted at consumption stage.

The global wastage of food per year crosses 1.3 billion tonnes.

I find people leaving food in plates; especially, when they visit bigger restaurants. It’s really difficult to say the reason behind; but, one can suspect;  does it look prestigious for them to leave part of food in the plate. Is it the hotel to be blamed for not making food tasty or for giving more quantity; since, they charge more on food.

I recall one of my friends who was an employee in TCS. I never saw him wasting food from the day I saw him. I saw him eating food irrespective of the place, taste and sometimes even the quality; because his sole motto was not to waste the food.

These facts made me to scribble a while to recall a few incidents I  experienced and heard of.
I was studying high school, getting scolded for not concentrating on studies was quite common for me. One day, I was pretty hungry; and filled plate full of rice and relish-able curry prepared by my mother. I switched on the television and changed the channel.  The rest was predictable, my mom scolded me which irked me a lot. I wash my hand in the plate full of rice and walked away. She called me and asked the reason for not eating food. I flung on her by saying “Not Hungry” and went away.

After fifteen minutes When I came back home, my father called me and showed me the plate full of rice in which I washed my hand. He rebuked me and made me eat the same rice. Then my parents explained me the importance of rice.

In India, Parents teach their children, sometimes by scaring. One thing that most parents say to their child is “Don’t waste food” and they scare them by saying they will tie the wasted food on the child’s head.

My old roommate used to weep whenever he eats lemon rice; especially if it is towards the fag end of the month. He used to praise his mother for preparing lemon rice for the breakfast form the previous night’s left over rice.

One of my acquaintances told that her mother used to give water mixed with chili powder and salt as combination with rice, idly, dosa, roti; instead of preparing tasty curry. She told it was the punishment if they waste the food.

In one or the other way our elders teach us the importance of food. But still food wastage is a never ending problem.

Care before you share

In this smart phone era, social media is playing a pivotal role in spreading the knowledge. Social media is playing an equal role like other Media.

It is the gift of science and technology; that made the world smaller and easier to snatch anything in the finger tips. But! Along with the positive subjects that improves our lives, knowledge about facts, positive emotions, achievements, and breaking news, humor, fine-arts etc; people, often share uttered nonsense like “ Found a snake in Mazaa” “ Superstitions about HIV”, fake news, porn, scary matters. One such share is the image below, I  have seen a lot of these images shared in social media .

The image is truly paraphrased as they are separate images of Trypophobia and giant water bug which is carrying its eggs ready to be hatched on its wings for reproduction.
Though it is true that these bugs sting is painful, but these bugs found only deep in the water waiting for their prey.
Social media has no restrictions; here, anybody can share anything. Not just sharing, but using social media is also devoid of restrictions of use. If we think what loss this kind of shares will cause?  We should think social media can reach children, pregnant women, heart patient, feeble minded person. These scary materials may affect them badly.
Think the truth behind the matter before sharing.
More than all; Science and technology is for the welfare of the society; but, not to scare or fool the people.

Please! Care before you share.

Smile- The Evidence of Happiness

Happiness is the gift of life; that we get every moment and at every step we land in our lives. People often enjoy in their own way to feel happy. A girl might feel happy when she gets a gift from her boyfriend. The happiness is a feel that sprout out purely from the heart and result is a small smile on face with jewel like expression, charm, and delight.

Incidents always make us feel better and happier. Imagine a situation of riding a two wheeler without a helmet; covering only skull in a traffic; and, you encounter with a beautiful girl with fair skin color, pink lips, long black hair, sparkling eyes, tall.

If she is facing difficulty to cross the road due to the dense number of vehicles passing around her ; and, you stop your bike to allow the girl to cross the road . This will make her feel happy. While crossing the road; she shouts loudly to say thanks to you. This will make any  rider feel happy for stopping for a beautiful girl and to smile of happiness on his face.

When our age crosses 24-25; it’s very common that our parents talk of our wedding,  our friends and relatives tease us by taking the reason of marriage. They take an imaginary name of the beautiful angel/ warrior coming in our lives that make them feel happy. In such situation, if our parents; especially, if the mother takes a name of the girl/boy who is already in our heart, it makes us feel more happier and it brings a cute grin on our face.

An absent minded fellow carrying a bag with loads of cash in it and he stops in a cold-drinks shop. He forgets the bag in the shop; which, he realizes in a short span of time. He rushes into the same shop with tensed feeling, filled with anxiety and splash of sweat on his face and tears in eyes. When he asks the shop owner about the bag and get it back  along with coke to relax and rejoice; the anxiety in the mind runs faster than Usain bolt . But the  smile on face after saying thanks, is a smile of relief and good luck.

While walking in the forest with your loved once to get relaxed from the stress of the work; and, suddenly a raindrop falling on your lip followed by the sprinkle of breeze. When the loved once realize it and wipe the drop on your lip with love to give a feel of warmth and comfort followed by a kiss on the cheek make us  feel happier and a smile on the face avert automatically.

When a cute little angel (small baby girl) of age five rushes towards you and meet with a small collision. This will make her feel bad to tell you a sorry, and she runs away  by producing the sound from her silver anklets, which can bring happiness and  a twinkle in the face filled with a chuckle of joy.

When win comes to us after ample of struggle and burden. When a girl proposes, when the unexpected gift is received, when help came from an unknown hand. When we are rewarded for the good work done and many more incidents in our routine life can give us happiness and a cute smile on our face is the evidence of happiness.

Tensionless Wish-list

Life is a bucket of wish-lists ;but, every wish cannot be under happening true-list. Every-time one or the hindrances or circumstances make us divert; or else, give a red signal to wish lists. Sometimes it is force-full and sometimes it is mandatory.

Every-time If the circumstances favor and give a chance to lead days as #BefikarUmarBhar. Our bucket List favors.

1..  Being in the field of science and living in the era of innovation, it’s always a preference; and, truly will be under the bucket list of everyone to lead life innovatively. Especially; when it comes to job, everyone needs change, new assignments each day is what the priority amongst bucket list. Despite of getting handful of salary to settle the normal life, everybody feels ; somewhere, their job is routine and dumb, they should lead the innovation everyday to be happy. This will be the first among bucket list.

.2. Bothering’s of life that smother our happiness increases as we grow old. This is the reason why we always feel to get back to our childhood. Everybody loves to be like a child; children have no bothering’s, no worries, no envy on others, no place for good or bad things. Children's  life will be like a white paper, write a poem or simply scratch on it; here, everything is accepted and appreciated. Childhood is a dream that will never come back. There are no chance of getting back our childhood; but, it will be everybody's bucket list.

3.       3.Sports and amusement play a pivotal role in refreshing our lives; everybody loves to play games of their interest, love listen to music all day; watch movies until tears burn in the eyes, travel a long distance to a pleasant place, roam in forest without fear and protection, climb the surfaces like a gecko, run like the Forrest-gump character of the movie, dance whenever and wherever the mind feels. Swim in water entire day like a fish,  this is the ecstatic bucket list.

4.      4.   Time is always a factor, imagine that,  we try reaching our workspace in time; even if we  face head torturing traffic. We get early to reach early. Exam time study night-outs. Working incessantly without time to sip coffee. Run back to home after 9 hours of work, Get married after 25 years of age, get retired when you reach 60 years retire, get ready to eat Profanity from children and grandchildren. Time is one of the main constraint for everyone. If time moves as per our wishes!.  Good times are always a bucket list.

5.     5.  While we walk down through the life; we observe beggars wearing the shirt with full of windows. We see few people thriving for food ,water, shelter.

We see a blind man facing difficulty in crossing roads, a mad fellow strewing their hairs, an old fellow waiting to get help from some youngsters, a child losing its way and crying to find the way or any persons familiar to its face.

We observe  people meeting with accidents, shedding their blood on the road and weeping for help to get back to normal. Couples struggling to serve their kids due to poverty. It will be evrybody's  bucket list is to join hands with everyone in the society who arei n some problem and whose life strewn.

Audit- The Brush-up procedure

Audit- an independent review and examination of records, and activities to assess the adequacy of system controls. Audit is to ensure compliance with established policies and operational procedures. The Audit recommends necessary changes in controls, policies and procedures.

Audit- the word which makes all of us shiver extensively. In one sense, we always face the audits like mother facing a pregnancy period. We take utmost care; as the day nears, curiosity, fear, pain increases drastically. The work progresses day and night without any deviations or shortcuts.

Every auditee will be hyperactive during those days. The day of audit is extensively hard to face; if the auditee has lost his confidence. Especially when it comes to a manufacturing industry or a lab; it will be definitely under a blast furnace, facing the heat of audit is just like the mother facing the pain while delivering a baby. Though its fool’s- paradise to compare a mother’s pain to the work pressure, still it’s just a hypothetical comparison.

Just a few hours ago, I have faced the audit which showed me the different faces of an industry; where, there will be adjustments, emotions, fear, tension, happiness, scope for improvement, chance to build or end up your friendship with the colleagues.

For 7 days most of my colleagues have forgotten their sleep, food, even their personnel lives for the sake of audit. This is definitely a point to take for anyone. Dedication and a thrive in work will be shown only when somebody is examining you and your efficiency.

In true sense world is running on this formula without evaluation your value is invalid. The audits make us rethink our way of working, thinking. They help us improve our skills, it will help us in skill development, anger management and team building.

Audits are the process which definitely helps us achieve the small milestones because audit itself is a small milestone. Though it may feel as an obstacle for the day to day work; but, it improves the quality of work.

While facing audit recently, I met an auditor, who with his knowledge, experience taunts me and my colleagues with his queries; but, his queries helped us to improve ourself. He asked some basic questions; which, most of the professionals forget to deliver over 3-4 years of working in industries.

His questions were like Aladdin brushing his lamp, the result was the appearance of Jenie. For us it was the back to form like experience, He brushed our lamp of knowledge and a Jeenie of interest in the profession came back and thanks for the auditor for giving that jeenie to us.

People often think audit as a burden, pain-full, but It will help to improve the skills, it will help to improve facilities and improve the ease of work.

Sleeky Meeet

It were the tough six months for me; I was ravished by some bad incident, the meek towards writing became pale and numb, ideas were not flourishing through my cerebrum, days were boring, time was running on its own.

I was in a desperate hunt of refreshment- by some or the other way. Traveling in a heavy traffic in a bus at the peak time was playing its worst part on me; and, I was definitely waiting for a small change.

Time slowed me a bit, even my routine chores slowed down, but; some things changed in last one week; especially when I saw a mail from Indiblogger.

It was the invitation for the first Indiblogger  meet of the year that took on 30th Jan 2015. I was a bit happy  for  Indiblogger still remembers me; despite of being an  irregular blogger who rarely posts .

I saw the venue; It was ITC gardenia; when I searched the Hotel name in google , I found it was a real grandeur, sleek, Probably the images of the ITC Gardenia made me think of the event to be sleek.

It was my second Indiblogger meet and it was sponsored by ASUS, The session started with usual registrations. As soon as I registered, I got six to seven new blogger friends. I was pretty happy to exchange my blog details with them and to hear about their blogs. Then, I shared the table with four bloggers. including one old friend.

The meet started pomp with some great music from Anup and company, their music woke up the gathering. Then, the session of bloggers meet starting with the usual kind of games. Indiblogger events are special; as, their meetings also give entertainment.

The game made me meet a number of new friends, know their blogs, their place, work, and many more. Anup announced the game, it was to give or collect personnel belongings, but, the things you received should not be given back and the belonging you give should not be obtained back.

The great kind of experience , the game made everyone hunt for the gifts that Asus was giving. The hunt made to interact even with the unknown bloggers, many have collected the items, many thanks to the game that showed a new style to make people interact and build a team.

Next, it was the official talk about ASUS by manager Mr. Choo- who has introduced their new product ASUS EE-book laptop, the feature and cost of the product made many to ask a number of questions.

The highlight of the day was another game; the game of creating an ad to promote blogging, Anup made 4 groups and announced the rules. One group imitated Pirates of the Carribean, One remixed Scenes of Sholay, my group remixed Gangnam Style song in the blogger style.

All the members in our team given their views on blogging and its advantages,  each of us contributed to write lyrics and one guy helped everyone to learn a few simple steps. Finally an instant song has been prepared which got thunders of claps.

The Dinner was delicious; courtesy of cooks of ITC Gardenia made it a relish,  and created an environment of  the wedding reception.

After Dinner, I met Mr.Vinaykumar who has published his collection of poems: but, the special thing about the person is his philanthropy, he was giving the money earned from his to a trust called Vidyaposhak, This trust is in Dharwad.

Totally-The meet was the one to remember. Really Sleek, Meek, Witty and Infusive.

Fear is a speck

Hassan -the fourth son of late Dadapeer Makandar. He is the last child of 7 children of Dadapeer. Hassan is the rich and successful person who has great respect in the society.

It was the time when Hassan was the child, his father was having a two wheeler garage at KJ Halli Bangalore. Dadapeer’s business was running successful enough to serve his wife and children. Dadapeer's house was at Padarayanapura near KR market; which, he purchased by taking loan from Kamal Seth and selling his ambassador car.

After they started residing in their new house, his business improved, and the couples got 3 boy children after 4 girls.  When, Hassan; his last son turned to the age of 3, Dadapeer cleared all his loan and purchased another house at KJ-Halli, and he opened a branch of his garage at Kengeri.

After opening new garage, it was difficult for him to maintain both of them. Time has become pure gold for him, and coming back to home was a rare advent.  Sleep and food were irregularly monitored, His health started deteriorating, observing his health getting deteriorated, his wife advised him to hire people to maintain garage.

Finally, he decided to hire 4 mechanics  to maintain his two garages. This made his life easier; But, unfortunates and accidents are unbidden. His garage at Kengeri set to fire due to a cylinder blast, which took the lives of his two mechanics. At KJ-Halli his garage was demolished by the Corporation for road widening and given him a shop away from main road. This all happened in one month.

After this incident, the pressure mounted on Dadapeer. Again, time has become pure gold for him, coming home has become a rare advent again. Sleep and food were irregularly monitored. Along with these, financial wane give him extreme stress.

Dadapeer lost his peace and he started drinking alcohol every day, he beat his children and shouting at his wife was common to him.

One day his wife shouted at him, and forced him to stop the garage, and start a new business. She told him, it's better quit; than risking the life with machines all the time . They both shouted, Dadapeer beaten his daughters, then drank heavily. He took his pet son Hassan outside and preached “Fear is death. Fear  will not allow anybody to move forward, Life is full of risks, without risk life will not move forward”.

While coming back home, they fell by bike, Dadapeer lost his life and Hassan's hand got fractured. The shock of his father’s death turned a havoc to him, he decided never to touch automobiles and machines.

Since then, Hassan never touched any automobile, he did not even learn bicycle. But when he finished his highschool, he felt ashamed when his friends laughed at him for not knowing bike riding. He was also embarrassed by the craze they have shown on bike, he  felt bad when they went for a road trip on bike.

But at last his father’s words came to his mind, he recalled them. He has thrown away his fear, and decided to learn bike; but, there was risk in it; as he was not aware even to ride a bicycle.

Initially, he took his friend's moped-bike instead of bicycle, he has fallen, hurt himself, broken his hand for the second time in his life, but he did not leave the task. The fear in him was absolutely gone and he learned bike.

He gained knowledge on construction of bikes, and four wheelers. He joined a garage as assistant, he learned four wheeler and then started modifying the bikes. Slowly he became expert in modifying bikes.

After few years of experience, Hassan opened his own Garage; where, he started modifying normal bikes into Race bikes. Along with modification; he started practicing race biking.   He has failed and his face got scrapped after falling, but he continued to move without fear.

Finally, he won a national level race and started taking part in international races, he got money, pride and girl  to marry. He started training the guys, opened a driving school, and today he is an official mechanic to perform service to Yamaha racer bikes and cars.

Loose Change and CDM

We all undergo the situations where we stand in a Queue in ATM to collect money and our ears are well versed with  the vibrations of these well versed bad news about ATM machines.

I have seen people checking balance and taking printout; despite knowing there balance paisa to paisa. Some strange persons checking notes from the ATM for their originality and wasting others time.

People who often put their card reverse and blame their card for being faulty. Like this ATM gives different experiences for everyone.

Along with ATM issues; people often find it difficult to find the change and follow their own path and methods to get the change. Giving a hundred rupee note to a beggar and asking him to give 95 rupees back is the method some people follow in front of the popular temples to get change.

People search for nearby petrol pumps or else a nearby counter shot bars to get change for a thousand rupees or a 500 rupee note. Some buy a pen or pencil and few purchase cigarette or any other commodity. I saw people investing on cigarette to get change of two rupees when its cost was 8 rupees to give it to the conductor of the bus to avoid losing 8 or more rupees that conductor writes behind the ticket. People often forget to collect them back to increase conductor’s income.

I, too had a different experience that could connect both the issues "the ATM and change".

It was early in the morning at 6. I was on the way to electronic city from my home towards my office I joined recently. It was initial punctuality that all the employees maintain were in my mind; and, my goal was to reach electronic city by 8 though my office timing was from 8: 30.

To reach the destination, it was mandatory for me to travel 30 kms by bus after  changing at least two buses. Travelling 30 kms in Bangalore are like travelling 150 kms on a highway.

I started, and started walking like, I was in 30km walk in the olympics, where sports persons walk for their destiny. I was walking fast for my pride and I reach bust sop. Morning hours are busy hours for Bangalore compatriots and buses will not make us wait in the morning in Bangalore.

I got a bus and when the conductor came asking me to take a ticket, I opened the purse, It was 1000 rupees Gandhi, which was stiff like a tetanus infected body; erected and brand new.

Conductors pitch raged and started scolding “Who will give you change for a 1000 rupee note, that too, early in the morning?” He continued "For me account has not yet opened for the day, you people spoil our moods and our day too will end in misery. Can’t you check the money before getting into the bus", his list of rebukes  continued  and he made me get down at the next stop.

I tried all the nearby shops and all possible ways to get the change for 1000 rupees. But the effort was un-successful.

Then I was in a situation of helplessness, but the ATM came to my help. I knew the kiosk or E-lobby of an SBI was nearby. This kiosk contains three kinds of machines, one is the usual automated teller machine, another one is a kiosk; where, we can take print-out of transactions, DD and so on, but the most important one was a CDM- cash deposit machine.

My mind rarely works for the situations;but, fortunately the flash of neurons passed fiercely and the idea sparked. I opened my SBI debit card and went to the CDM. I deposited 1000 rupee note; and the message displayed the balance in my SBI account which was just above the minimum balance tariff.

After depositing money at CDM ,I used my ATM card to open 100 rupees from ATM machine; and I got change.   It was easy for me to travel in a  bus after getting 100 rupee notes. I reached office after utilizing the facilities of banking and realized the fact “Banking is a fun” with the best invention like CDM.

CDM could prevent you from standing in a long Queue to deposit money, You can avoid hard hitting cashiers rebukes for not signing or for not putting date or for some other reason.  This saves the time and saves you from the rebukes of the cashier.

With everything getting automated, the number of internet banking user is ascending and the fun of banking is being increased day by day  as the burden getting decreasing.

Kiss Of Green

It was feverish Cold, which made my teeth make tattering sound for the chill out situation probably at 5 am . The window of the bus completely masked by the effects of dusk in the dawn. The confuse with the bus I got was, whether the one I was traveling in was a bus or else a gushing snake. It was moving here and there left and right, suddenly straight again curving towards small excavation. The was full of uphill’s, curling’s. It was a pin drop silence in my fellow travelers, including me, the boulevard was having more curls and curvatures; probably, more curves than a beautiful woman .

On one side and the only side I can look into, was through my window, after swiping a bit of water droplets on the window pane. It was a dense forest; and, by the time my eyes were stuttering to close. I somehow managed to go through the time by having a look at romantic spot and listening to equally romantic (Only for Bachelors) “Who ladki hain kaha” from "Dil Chahata hain" which was playing in my fun-book. I played the same song repeatedly at-least for not less than 7-8 times with a maximum volume that a fun-book can produce in a headphone.

It was 6 am, the time for “Kiss of Love”. The clouds were all over the mountain and both cloud and mountain were trying to hug each other to hold the crumpet  like feeling. The feet of cloud were on mountains toes, as if a girls foot was  on a boys toes who  try to close their lips. When the scene of love was on my mind, there comes the villain, definitely not  the sun ,but the shade of green of forest  that are formed by mammoth trees kissing the sky and forming the canopy.

This shuns the main villain-Sun ; and even,  shun my view of the romantic event that would still continue to flutter in my thoughts. The vista of beauty was gravitating, crawling toward my oculars crumpled in a matter of seconds. In a few minutes the stuttering eyes close without my notice; despite, of the song that was  playing .

When I opened my eyes and landed my foot on the ground, It was like heaven to me. I was happy to great extent; probably, the happiness that Neil Armstrong would have felt when he landed his leg on the moon. The climate was like a ice chilled beer and I was in a forest, legs were on the leaves fallen from the trees.  The leaves were rotten by the hyphae of fungi, few bacteria and the lichens making love on this fertile jewel. Even the rotten smell of leaves giving a feel of smell of a purple stock flower.

After a few seconds, the show of mate of two natural beauties made my mind rejoice-full and scene came more nearer to my sight than I saw in the bus. The scene of the mate of mountains and clouds was nearer, my neck was in a raised position involuntarily. But this time again the view was crushed and the villain was rain .

The view I was looking was missint, but what I got was “Kiss of green”. The First drop due of rain slipped from the youngest of the trees and the greenest part of it directly fall onto my smog glittered lip. I thought ,this is what everybody feels when we get a kiss from somebody whom we love and the Kiss of green stamped an evergreen memory in my cerebrum.
